The Waxing Boutique offers face and body waxing for women and men, lash lifts, lash and brow tinting, and facials.

We are located in the Maple Leaf / Lake City area, and offer expert waxing in a relaxed and professional setting.

the waXYing lounge is the spinoff/brother of The Waxing Boutique, inspired by the growing need for men’s waxing. TWL specializes in all Men’s waxing but is not exclusive to men. We offer non waxing services for all genders as well (see menu). Couples are welcome to come together

Located just south of Seattle in Renton, we want every client no matter what to feel comfortable and not stressed or embarrassed.

Melissa Avila, owner and esthetician

I moved from Oregon to Seattle in 1992 with the intention of attending the Art Institute of Seattle. On a whim I ended up enrolling in The Paul Mitchell Academy of Cosmetology and graduated from their Esthetic program in 1993. From there I worked for a small skincare clinic in Bellevue where I learned a great deal from the owner. I took that knowledge and in 1994 was hired on at Gene Juarez Salons where I worked until 2004. I also attended Blanche MacDonald School for Film and Television Special FX Makeup in Vancouver, B.C and graduated in 2003. After graduating from Makeup school and working for a corporation for 10 years I decided that it was time for me to go out on my own. I love the career I have chosen and wouldn’t trade my experiences from my past employers for anything, I learned a lot and it has helped me become the business owner that I am today.

Olivia

My name is Olivia and I grew up in the Olympia, Washington area. I competitively wrestled for four years in High School as well as Competitive Cheer. I have a cute little Maltipoo born in the Fall of 2023 named Blizten.

My Esthetics training was at the Stratum Institute in Lakewood, WA and I graduated in July of 2023. I grew up in the salon environment since my mom is a cosmetologist. I love waxing and I also want to help educate men and women of all skin tones about skin health and the benefits of facials.
